Volunteering at the Local Schools While At Abundance Farm

(see text at bottom of page)

Our volunteers are popular at the local school

Every student benefits from encouragement to study

Most students appreciate the chance to try using the few English words they have learned in conversation

Some volunteers enjoy playing with the children after school

We have a special program with the local school whereby long-term guests at the farm (two weeks or more) can arrange to volunteer in the school, on a project of their choice. Past volunteers have set up art projects with the children. (Short-term guests are welcome to visit the school and talk to the children as well but cannot setup a special project at the school.) Through a grant with World Vision, the school has recently been given computers, and is very interested in having one or two volunteers regularly in the classroom assisting in the new computer room.
